On 27 August 2020 the British Council in Malaysia, Yayasan Sime Darby and the Cultural Centre, Universiti Malaya launched the three-year Hubs for Good programme.
Five grants were awarded to Malaysian creative hubs in March 2020 for the purpose of capacity building.
Communities of a New Future was a three-part gathering for creative hub managers and community leaders from Southeast Asia and the UK.
Organised in response to feedback from our first capacity training workshop, we worked with three local hub leaders and My Performing Arts Agency to deliver workshops.
As part of our Hubs for Good programme, the British Council organised a week-long tour of creative hubs in London and Cardiff in May 2019.
The Hubs for Good forum, held on 11 March 2019 in KL, brought hubs from Malaysia together with counterparts from Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and the UK in KL.
The workshop was facilitated by Gillian Easson of Creative Dundee and focused on strengthening networks and connections amongst different creative hubs in the country.
