Alumni UK Symposium and Careers Fair 2023 - Event Highlights
The British Council in Malaysia hosted a landmark event for graduates of UK universities in Kuala Lumpur on 25 February 2023 – its first Alumni UK Symposium and Alumni UK Careers Fair. Themed 'Bridging Opportunities' and delivered in partnership with Chevening Alumni Malaysia, the British Graduates Association Malaysia and the British Malaysia Chamber of Commerce, the inaugural British Council Alumni UK Symposium and Careers Fair saw over 400 participants who used the opportunity to share their professional expertise and experiences through conversations and interactions geared to strengthening their collective and individual profiles.
The Symposium explored topics such as the impact of the digital age on the future workforce, entrepreneurship, employability and gender balance in leadership through the lens of industry leaders, CSO stalwarts and leading lights from UK Alumni in Malaysia. The one-day event kicked off the 75th Anniversary celebrations of the British Council in Malaysia. The concurrent Careers Fair attracted 22 leading graduate recruiters and companies seeking talented and aspirational graduates with world-class UK degrees. The event concluded with the announcement of the winners of the Alumni UK Malaysia Challenge Fund 2023, a competition to gather ideas for a sustainable alumni network.
