Your trainer

Helen has been teaching and training since 1991, as a Senior Lecturer in a Further Education College in Edinburgh, Scotland, before commencing work with the British Council in 2013. Before joining the Professional Development Centre in Kuala Lumpur, she had worked in Malaysia as a Senior Trainer on the Professional Upskilling of English Language Teachers (Pro-ELT) Project, in Myanmar as a trainer on the English for Education College Trainer (EfECT) project and as a Lead Trainer on the Regional English Training Centres project in Thailand.

As a Senior Lecturer in the UK, she gained a wide range of experience with business communication skills and soft-skills training sessions with themes such as ‘effective communication skills”, “business writing”, “effective meetings”, “networking’ and “presentation skills”.  She has trained participants from across Europe, Africa and Asia.

With extensive experience as an English language teacher and trainer, in a wide variety of roles, Helen is committed to planning and delivering quality bespoke in-company training and public workshops, both F2F and Online, as well as 1:1 Coaching. Her aim is always to meet the needs of each participant and encourage active participation.

In Malaysia she has worked with participants from a range of industries and organisations including Petronas, Razak School of Government, Baker Hughes, BASSnet, IMU, AIA, Prudential and Philip Morris.
