Professional Achievement Award
Junior Gunnar Putera Eldstal
Alumnus of Hartpury University Centre, University of West of England
Junior Gunnar Putera Eldstal, graduate of Hartpury University Centre, University of West of England and recipient of the Professional Achievement Award, said that his UK education provided a great balance between focusing on football and getting a proper education. Junior Eldstal is a professional footballer for Johor Darul Takzim. He plays in the Malaysian Super League and represents the Malaysian National Team.
Entrepreneurial Award
Mary-Ann Suan Kim Ooi
Alumna of University of Sheffield and City University London
The Entrepreneurial Award recipient Mary-Ann Ooi Suan Kim, graduate of the University of Sheffield and City University, London. Kim says that her UK education exposed her to the best of both worlds: preserving traditional heritage, yet embracing new innovations. She founded and heads Builders Biomass a company that looks into providing renewable sources of energy.
Social Impact Award
Dzameer Dzulkifli
Alumnus of Imperial College London
Dzameer Dzulkifli, recipient of the Social Impact Award, says that his studies at Imperial College London exposed him to world-class professors, researchers and peers that instilled a high degree of analytical and problem-solving skills. He is the co-founder of Teach For Malaysia (TFM) – an organisation that focuses on the leadership potential of Malaysia's fresh graduates or young professionals as well as students from low-income communities.
