The British Council is delighted to announce an open call for Malaysia City Profile Data Collection. This project forms Phase 1 of a larger Cultural City Profile (CCP) research project directory which seeks to offer UK creatives and cultural sectors a digital bridge to lesser known cities in East Asia.

The East Asia CCP project will be led by a lead UK consultancy. In Malaysia, we are looking for a local researcher or consultant to collect initial data for eight Malaysian cities. The data collectors will be given a template with key cultural information to collect data from the following cities:
  1. Kuala Lumpur and cities in the wider Klang Valley (e.g. Petaling Jaya, Subang, Shah Alam)
  2. George Town, Penang
  3. Johor Bharu, Johor
  4. Ipoh, Perak
  5. Kuching, Sarawak
  6. Malacca, Malacca
  7. Kota Bharu, Kelantan
  8. Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

The timeline for this project is as follows:

16 November 2020: Submission deadline
18 November 2020: Announcement of selected supplier
20 November 2020: Kick-off meeting
8 January 2021: Final reporting of complete data
