Gordon joined the British Council in 2003, working primarily on a team-teaching project in junior-high schools, as well as university and adult teaching. He has been a member of the Leaders of English Education Project (LEEP) team since its inception in 2014, developing and delivering training for Japanese teachers of English at elementary, junior-high and high school level. Gordon is also an accredited trainer for the British Council’s Academic Teaching Excellence (ATE) course, helping university lecturers to teach their subjects using English as a medium of instruction.
In 2017, Gordon completed his MA in Language Testing with Lancaster University, with a research focus on the relationship between testing and teaching in schools. Since graduating, he has been developing language assessment training for teachers, including the British Council’s Language Assessment in the Classroom MOOC on FutureLearn, and the recently launched How Language Assessment Works workshops.
