Unlocking the Potential of Research Translation in Malaysia
The International Science Partnerships Fund’s (ISPF) Capacity Strengthening Programme, delivered by the British Council, is dedicated to addressing country-specific capacity gaps in line with the ISPF programme themes and the UK’s International Development Strategy. In Malaysia, this initiative focuses on enhancing research translation—bridging the gap between academic discoveries and real-world impact.
Research Translation Baseline Analysis for Malaysia
Despite various policies implemented by the Malaysian government and its agencies to encourage research translation into societal benefits and policy improvements, challenges remain.
To gain deeper insights into the evolving research translation landscape, the British Council and the University of East Anglia Consultancy Ltd. (UEAC) have partnered on a comparative scoping project that examines research translation ecosystems in two countries: Malaysia and Indonesia. This initiative highlights the growing significance of applying research to practical challenges, identifying opportunities, barriers, and best practices. The findings will inform strategic recommendations to strengthen Malaysia’s capacity in translational research.
