Parents' Day

Do remember that over the weekend of the 17 and 18 October 2015 we will be holding our annual Parents' Day. This will give you an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher and discuss the progress your child has made over the year. There will be no classes on these days, but there will be a range of fun activities for the children for while you are speaking to the teacher.

Art Competition winners

The wait is over and we are very pleased to announce that the votes have been counted and the winners of the Art Competition for Kuala Lumpur have been decided! In fact, the competition was so close that there was only a difference between one vote between first and second prize in one of the categories. A big congratulations to all the winners! And a big thank you to all the children who submitted entries and took part in the competition.

All the winning pictures will be on display during Parents Days.

Primary Plus

We are excited to announce the launch of Primary Plus in January 2016. Primary Plus is a new six level course for 5-9 year olds, using materials designed by British Council experts. This material has been informed by our research and understanding of child development in East Asian countries, and continues to focus on what your child can do. The materials cover 10 different modules in the one-year course, all based on age appropriate themes and topics for your child, and their development stage.

With Primary Plus your child will;

  • continue to develop their language abilities, whilst working on tasks and projects to improve their understanding and use of language.
  • build their confidence.
  • develop important life skills, such as critical thinking and problem solving.
  • have access to learning activities online.

You are invited to one of our info sessions on the new Primary Plus courses, these will be held initially on our Parents’ day on 17 and 18 October 2015.

Collecting your child

Just a reminder please to ensure that you collect your child directly after class. Unfortunately there have been instances of children being collected quite late after the lesson has finished, and this puts a bit of a strain on our resources here. We ask that you be at British Council roughly 5 minutes before the end of class. Thank you for your understanding.

Holiday courses

Don’t forget about our exciting holiday courses and workshops that will be taking place at the end of the year. Based around the theme of ‘Around the World’, children will be inspired to explore their world through a variety of fun and motivating activities.

Parents' Workshop

Please note that we will be running free parent workshops in KL entitled How to help your child improve their spelling. The workshops aim to give some practical strategies and ideas on activities you can do at home with children struggling with spelling. Places are limited on a first-come first-served basis. They will be held in Room 17 on Saturday 10 October from 1.30pm until 2pm, and repeated on Sunday 11 October at the same time. We hope to see you there!
