Candidate results

An electronic copy of your Aptis results will be sent to you via email two (2) days after completing the test.

Please note that this electronic result is final and we will not provide a hardcopy certificate. 

How are the results presented?

The results from Aptis are presented in two ways:

  • Numerical score: A scale of 0 to 50 for each skill tested and a score for the Grammar and Vocabulary component.
  • CEFR level by skill: A CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) level is allocated for each skill tested. Each CEFR band describes the English language competence in a specific skill and is described on the back of the individual report.
  • An overall CEFR level will be awarded if all four skills components are complete.

  • All Aptis reports include a unique QR code and a link which provide digital result verification, confirming the authenticity of test results. This feature uses blockchain credentials with the highest level of security, verifying all test reports issued by the British Council.

Aptis Enquiry on Results (EOR)

If you are not happy with your test results, you can request your test to be re-marked. You can make an Enquiry on Results request at any point up to eight weeks after the test day. The fee for this enquiry is MYR 100.

How to submit an Enquiry on Results?

You should submit your Enquiry on Results request by submitting the registration here and you will receive a confirmation email upon successful submission.

How does it work?

Remark request applies to the entire test components and not for individual component. It only applies for the initial test and can’t be requested if Combined Score service has taken place.

  • Grammar and Vocabulary, Reading and Listening component checks are conducted by the system, to ensure components have been marked accurately.
  • Speaking and Writing components are re-marked by Senior Examiners.
  • If your overall CEFR level improves after the test is re-marked, your payment for Enquiry on Results will be refunded in full (minus bank charges if any) and we will provide you with a new test report form.
  • The fee will be retained if your overall CEFR level remains the same or decrease to a lower level.
  • If a CEFR level changes for a single component but your overall CEFR level stays the same, the fee is retained.
  • The outcome of the Enquiry on Results are considered final and will be available after fourteen (14) calendar days.
